Safari Adventures: A Custom Bedroom Mural for Anna and Johnny

I was absolutely delighted when Anna reached out to me again! I had previously painted a Giant Bug Nursery Mural for their family in their old home, so when they moved, they invited me along to help transform their son’s new bedroom. This time, the theme was a fun-filled safari. 🦒 🦓 🐘

The Design Process

They gave me a wonderful list of animals to include, featuring a zebra and a hippo - neither of which I had painted on a wall before! This was a fun new challenge for me. The trickiest part was figuring out how to fit such a large cast of characters onto one wall, but I eventually found the perfect solution: having the zebra standing on the elephant's back helped alot!

I’m really happy with the colour palette I chose for this one; it translated beautifully from my sketch to the walls.

The Painting Process

It was an absolute joy to catch up with Johnny and Anna while I was painting. Can I paint a mural for you every year or so? 😄

The Final Result

I think this might be one of my favorite safari murals so far. I particularly loved adding some unique personality and character to the crew 🐘🦓🦒

I’m so pleased with how this turned out - in fact, I might even have to turn some of these guys into t-shirt designs!
